Kathu Pan - oldest stone-tipped spears

Stone-tipped spears have been discovered here at Kathu Pan (site needs to be verified) that date to 500,000 years ago.  The earliest similar spears found are 200,000 years younger and associated with Neanderthals or archaic Homo sapiens.  But these spears are associated with Homo heidelbergensis.  Homo heidelbergensis is probably an ancestor of humans.
