San Miguel (also known as Chaparrastique) is a stratovolcano in central-eastern El Salvador. It is situated about 15 km southwest of the city of San Miguel. It is one of the most active volcanoes in this country. The 2002 eruption had flowed lava into nearby ranches up to the main highway.
