Franz von Papen masterminded the bombing.  He was on diplomatic assignment at the time and was thrown out of the country once his involvement was discovered.  He later became Chancellor of Germany.

The Vanceboro international bridge bombing was an attempt to destroy the Saint Croix-Vanceboro Railway Bridge on February 2, 1915.
