Mary Chilton may have been the first woman to step off the Mayflower in 1620 at Plymouth. Her father was the oldest member of the Mayflower and died on the voyage. Her mother passed away only eight weeks later. Either John Alden or Myles Standish raised her. When she grew up, she married John Winslow and had ten children.

Description

Mary Chilton

Mary Chilton (1607 – ca. April 1679) was a Pilgrim and purportedly the first European woman to step ashore at Plymouth, Massachusetts.
