Comments

The view from the visitor's center at Guadalupe Mountains National Park of the Permian reef complex within El Capitan is spectacular.  The wall of the reef exposed in the peak is 2,200 feet high.  The reef once surrounded the Delaware Basin which is rich in petroleum deposits. Exposures of the reef can be found here along the trail to Pratt Cabin.
