The 1 to 2 meter pegmatite dike cuts Precambrian gneises and schists.  Within the dike you can see the sequence of crystallization along the discontinuous side of Bowen's reaction series along the fringes of the massive white quarts in the vein (see the image).    Stop 2 of EchoHawk and Kackstaetter
