Altered ultramafic rock in the Alligator Back Formation

Just in the woods off the road here is an outcrop of the Alligator Back Formation which is made up of 90% tremolite and actinolite schist with amphibole needles aligned.  Th ultramaphic rocks surround an amphibolite core.  The age is Proterozoic to Cambrian. Stop 27 Carter et al.
