On February 14, 2018, a mass shooting occurred at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, United States. 17 people were killed and 15 more hospitalized, making it one of the world's deadliest school massacres.[2] Nikolas Cruz, the man arrested as the shooter, is in custody of the Broward County Sheriff's Office, charged with seventeen counts of premeditated murder.
