Roman Rigomagus

Description

Rigomagus was a Roman garrison place, which was used as an auxiliary stronghold of the Lower Germanic Limes , as Benefiziarierstation and as late Roman fortress. Today's Bodendenkmal is located in the area of the Rhineland-Palatinate town of Remagen , whose name derives directly from the Latin place name, in the district of Ahrweiler .
