Small Roman fort Marienfels

Description

The fort Marienfels was a Roman border fort of the Upper Germanic Limes , which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2005 . The former numerus fort is today as a largely overbuilt Bodendenkmal within the settlement area of Marienfels ( Verbandsgemeinde Nastätten ), a municipality in Rhineland-Palatinate Rhein-Lahn-Kreis .
