Description

At the time of the Roman occupation a man named Ianuarius Justinus immortalized himself in the plane rock face with his name. Iustinus was probably an Auxiliary Roman soldier (or legionnaire ), either on watch duty at the Upper Germanic Limes, 200 meters away , or carrying out quarry work and marking his place of employment here.
