The Kleinkastell Neuwirtshaus was a Roman fort on the Wetteraustrecke of the Upper Germanic Limes , which in 2005 acquired the status of a UNESCO World Heritage Site . The Bodendenkmal is located in a dense forest area about 500 meters southeast of the outskirts of Hanau - Wolfgang ( Main-Kinzig-Kreis in Hesse ) and northeast of the forest settlement of Hanau- Großauheim , near Neuwirtshaus , a small collection of houses with two restaurants, the does not have the status of a district.
