Salve Regina University (or simply Salve) is a private, non-profit comprehensive university located in the city of Newport, Rhode Island and is affiliated with the Sisters of Mercy. Founded in 1934, Salve is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, the university enrolls more than 2,600 undergraduate and graduate students from across the U.S. and around the world. For 2019, U.S. News & World Report ranked Salve Regina 28th in the Best Colleges-Regional Universities (North) category. In 2018, Salve was ranked as the 18th 'Most Transformative College' in the United States by Money Magazine[2].
