On March 16, 2021, a series of mass shootings occurred at three massage parlors in the metropolitan area of Atlanta, Georgia, United States, resulting in eight people being killed, most of them Asian women, and one person being wounded. A suspect, 21-year-old Robert Aaron Long, was taken into custody later that day.[1][2][3] While no motive has yet been established, the incidents took place in businesses that employed people of Asian background, amidst an increase in anti-Asian hate crimes nationwide.[4]
