Tipaza (formerly Tefessedt, Chenoua: 
Bazar, Arabic: تيپاازة) is a Berber-speaking town on the coast of Algeria, capital of the Tipaza Province. The modern town, founded in 1857, is remarkable chiefly for its sandy beach, and ancient ruins.
