The Academy Award Winning and two-time Emmy winning actor, Anthony Hopkins, was born in Whales, and since 2000 has been both a British and an American citizen. Queen Elizabeth II knighted Sir Phillip Anthony Hopkins in 1993 and in 2008 he received the honor of Fellow of The British Academy of Film and Television Arts, having won three BAFTA awards throughout his career. In 2003 Hopkins received a star on the Hollywood walk of Fame for his numerous and extraordinary contributions to the film industry. He has contributed to the arts not only through his work in film and on television, but on the stage and as a composer as well.

Sir Philip Anthony Hopkins, CBE (born 31 December 1937), best known as Anthony Hopkins, is a Welsh actor of film, stage, and television, and a composer. Considered to be one of the greatest living actors, Hopkins' films have spanned a wide variety of genres, from family films to horror. As well as his Academy Award, Hopkins has also won three BAFTA Awards, two Emmys and the Cecil B. DeMille Golden Globe Award.
