Poggio Bracciolini discovered Lucretius' poem On the Nature of Things

The Benedictine Abbey at Fulda located here is believed to be the place where Poggio Bracciolini discovered a previously unknown poem by Lucretius in 1417 that was written in the first century BC.  It is the only known work by Lucretius.  

Description

Titus Lucretius Carus (c. 99 BC – c. 55 BC) was a Roman poet and philosopher. His only known work is the epic philosophical poem De rerum natura about the beliefs of Epicureanism, and which is translated into English as On the Nature of Things or "On the Nature of the Universe".
