John Christopher Stevens (April 18, 1960 – September 12, 2012) was an American diplomat and lawyer who served as the U.S. Ambassador to Libya from June 2012 to September 12, 2012.[4] Stevens was murdered when the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, was attacked by terrorists on September 11-12, 2012.[5][3]
