Roman vicus of Böhming

View on map:48.944153°N 11.361859°E

Description

The comparatively large vicus (camp village) for the small castle could be observed especially in the south and southwest. Near the bath - between this and the fort - a building was excavated, which may perhaps be interpreted as a temple, as there a damaged altar for the goddess Fortuna redux from the year 215 has been recovered. [16] The 4.60 x 5.20 meter tall building was found in 1905 in the form of a poorly preserved, rectangular building. The walls, which were still up to 0.30 meters high, were 0.60 meters thick. An entrance could no longer be recognized.
