Description

The camp village of the Alteburg was examined in 1982/1983 on an area of 3,500 square meters between the fort and the thermal baths. As feared before the excavations began, many important findings had already fallen victim to the plow. [8] Schallmayer summed up the repeated field inspections on the grounds of the camp village long before these excavations. At that time statements were for the first time possible for the extension of the civil settlement. [9]Thus, it became clear that the settlement extended not just to the northwest, but also north, south and west of the fort. On the basis of the collected sigillates the end of Roman life could be fixed to the second third of the 3rd century AD. [9]
