Small Roman fort Schirenhof

Description

The castle Schirenhof , also known as Etzelsburg , is a former Roman cohort fort located today in the city of Schwäbisch Gmünd , in the corridors of the Schirenhof in Ostalbkreis , Baden-Württemberg . It was built around 150 AD on a ledge overlooking the Rems to the Rätische Limes behind it , which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005 .
