On 15 February 2013, a meteor entered Earth's atmosphere over Russia at 09:20:26 Yekaterinburg Time (03:20:26 UTC), becoming a fireball.[2][3][4] It passed over the southern Ural region and exploded over the city of Chelyabinsk.[n 1] The meteor traveled north-to-south over the region.
