Air Bagan Flight 11

Air Bagan Flight 11

Air Bagan Flight 11 was a domestic scheduled flight in Myanmar, operated by Air Bagan from Yangon to Heho. On 25 December 2012 the aircraft operating the flight, a Fokker 100, crash landed through trees removing the wings on approach to Heho Airport. The aircraft also struck power lines on descent and came to rest on fire. The aircraft was carrying 65 passengers, of whom one was killed and 11 injured. A motorcyclist on the ground was also struck and killed. The cause of the accident is as yet unclear; it was reported that the pilots attempted to land the aircraft on the road by mistake, but one eyewitness was quoted as saying that the aircraft was already on fire before the crash.[3][4] The pilots were injured in the crash and received hospital treatment.[5]
