Dr. David Cornbleet was stabbed to death in his office on the 12th Floor of the building here - 30 N. Michigan Ave -- on October 24, 2006.  One of his former patient's (Hans Peterson) DNA was found at the scene of the crime.  But Peterson had fled to St. Martin.  He was a French citizen and therefore France refused to extradite him back to the US even though Peterson had confessed to the French authorities that he had killed Cornbleet.  The French tried him and he was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 22 years.
