Terry Melcher was the son of Doris Day and met Charles Manson at Denis Wilson's home (Wilson played with the Beach Boys).  Manson was brought there by a talent scout to see if Melcher was interested in producing his music.  He was not.  At the time, Melcher was still living here but later sold the house.  The Manson family went specifically to the home here because they thought it was still owned by Melcher.  They ended up killing 5 people including Sharon Tate.
