Orellana and his men killed hundreds of natives here.  This is where they claimed to have run into giant women that commanded troops and led them to believe that stories about giant warrior women living without men were true.  Carvajal, Orellana's priest and recorder of the journey, lost his eye during the battle.  The precise location is not known but Levy suggests it occurred somewhere in here.
