Not only was Orellana's ship the San Pedro damaged when it hit a log but the Victoria was lodged on a sandbar when native attacked.  They managed to fix the boat, dislodge the Victoria and beat back the attack from the natives before escaping.  The precise locality is not known but Levy believes it took place somewhere near here.
