The Sierrita Mine is a large copper mine located in the Sierrita Mountains of Arizona, in the southwestern part of the United States. Sierrita was operated by Phelps Dodge and represents one of the largest copper reserve in the United States and in the world. The deposit had estimated reserves (in 2006) of 907 million metric tons of ore grading 0.26% copper and 0.03% molybdenum along with additional 2.4 billion tons at 0.21% copper and 0.02% molybdenum.
