On October 1, 2015, a mass shooting took place at Umpqua Community College, near Roseburg, Oregon, United States. Chris Harper-Mercer, 26, fatally shot nine people and injured seven others on the campus before being killed in a shootout with police.[8][6][9][10][11][12]
