One of the famous scenes from the movie was shot here where Joe Buck (Jon Voight) and Enrico Salvatore "Ratso" Rizzo (Dustin Hoffman) are crossing the street and Ratso almost gets hit by a taxi and slams the car and says "I'm walkin here".  Interesting the scene was not scripted.  They had no permit to film and in one of the takes, a taxi tried to run the light.  Hoffman got angry that the take and been ruined and hit the cab and shouting the famous lines.
