The Châtel-sur-Moselle fortress located in Châtel-sur-Moselle in the Vosges is one of the largest castles in Europe. It covers five hectares, has 22 towers and 1.4 kilometers of ramparts, three floors of galleries and underground rooms. The fortress reflects the evolution of the fortification of the xi th to the xvi th century and early adaptation to artillery metal balls.
