Umatilla Dike

The Umatilla Dike is the feeder to Puffer Butte Volcano.  The dike prevented the old stagecoach system from getting through so they had to cut a tunnel through the dike.  The dike has selvage zones exposed on each side.  Stop 10 in Reidal et a.

Columbia River Basalt Group

The Columbia River Basalt Group is a large igneous province that lies across parts of the Western United States. It is found in the U.S. states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, and California. The Basalt group includes the Steen and Picture Gorge basalt formations.
