Rio de Janeiro State University

Rio de Janeiro State University (Portuguese: Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, UERJ) is one of the largest and most prestigious universities in Brazil. The university's law school is among the best in the country, as is the medical school.^[5] Its main campus is located at Francisco Negrão de Lima in the Maracanã neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro city. Other campuses are located at Petrópolis, Nova Friburgo (Polytechnic Institute), Teresópolis, Duque de Caxias, Ilha Grande, Resende, and São Gonçalo.
