Small Roman fort Auf der Schanz

Description

The small fort "Auf der Schanz" was a Roman border fortification of the Upper Germanic Limes , which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2005 . The former auxiliaries fortification is now located in a completely overbuilt area of Bad Ems , a town in the Rhineland-Palatinate Rhine-Lahn district . It is the smaller of a total of two Roman military camps in the Emser city area.
