Roman fortress Saalburg

Description

The Saalburg is a former fortress of the Roman Limes located on the Taunus Causeway northwest of Bad Homburg in front of the height . The cohort fort is located immediately west of today's federal highway 456 , about halfway between the city of Bad Homburg before the height and the community Wehrheim in the high Taunuskreis . It is considered the best-researched and most completely reconstructed fort of the Upper German-Raetian Limes , which has been the UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2005 .
