Awkiwatu (Quechua,[2] hispanicized spelling Auquihuato) is a volcano[3] in the Andes of Peru, about 4,980 metres (16,339 ft) high. It is situated in the Ayacucho Region, Paucar del Sara Sara Province, on the border of the districts Colta and Oyolo.[4] Awkiwatu lies about 38 km north-east of the volcano Sara Sara and 45 km north-west of the volcano Sulimana.
