Roman baths of Ober-Florstadt

Description

About 45 meters north of the road leading from the porta praetoria (east of the fort) Kofler found the bath building. The interior was severely disturbed and remnants of about 60 hypocaust pillars, wall painting and screed floors ( opus signinum ) could be found. The plan, which diverges greatly from the central baths of the later Limeskastelle, raises questions. Kofler believed that he recognized a double bath, which was possibly also shared by the inhabitants of the civilian settlement ( Vicus ) , and made comparisons with the castles of Eining and Osterburken .
