On 18 January 2019, a pipeline transporting fuel exploded in the town of Tlahuelilpan, in the Mexican state of Hidalgo. The blast killed at least 73 people and injured more than 74 others. Mexican authorities blame fuel thieves, who were seen earlier illegally tapping the pipeline.
