The 2012 Valparaíso earthquake was an earthquake that occurred on April 16 at 11:50 pm local time (3:50 am UTC). According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake measured 6.7 in the moment magnitude scale, but no significant damage to public or private property occurred as a result. An elderly man experienced a fatal heart attack, and this was the only human casualty.[2]
