Yanga is a 31,190-hectare national park located on frontage of 170 kilometres (110 mi) on the Murrumbidgee River and 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) east of Balranald, in the Riverina region of southwest New South Wales. Most of the park overlaps with the Lowbidgee Floodplain Important Bird Area (IBA), identified as such by BirdLife International because of its importance as a breeding site for waterbirds when flooded.[2]
