Amida (Greek: Ἄμιδα, Kurdish: Amed[2][3]) was an ancient city in Mesopotamia located where modern Diyarbakır, Turkey now stands. The Roman writers Ammianus Marcellinus and Procopius consider it a city of Mesopotamia.
